Daphne is a 2nd-year PhD student in the Neurobiology and Behavior program. She is interested in how the basic cellular functions of autophagy change in the aging brain and identifying how these changes can lead to the development of sporadically occurring neurodegenerative diseases. Daphne received her B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology from UC Berkeley in 2021 and then spent two years researching at the University of Chicago before starting her PhD. Outside of the lab, Daphne is an avid plant-propagator, music lover, and backpacking/hiking enthusiast.
